A real highlight of any trip to Serre Chevalier is the new thermal spa complex in Monêtier. Monêtier is a natural thermal spa town (hence its full name Monêtier-les-Bains), and much of the village’s hot water supply is from its natural thermal springs. Les Grands Bains is a newly opened thermal spa complex and the perfect way to relax after a day on the slopes - whether you have been skiing, hiking, biking - or just want to relax in style! Les Grands Bains are at the foot of the mountain, and have stunning views of the mountains above Monêtier.

Guide to the thermal spa

The thermal spa complex has four main areas:

  • the indoor pool - this is a large heated pool with various massage jets and a jacuzzi

  • indoor water rooms - these are rooms with water of varying temperatures, from very warm to the ice cold plunge pool! There is also the music room where you can relax and listen to music through underwater speakers

  • the outdoor pool - this is a large outdoor heated pool with various jets and ledges to sit or lie on. You can keep warm while the snow gently falls around you, and in the evening relax under the stars - at any time of the day, it’s a fantastic experience!

  • the adults-only area - this is upstairs and is only for over 18s. There are bubble beds, three saunas of varying temperatures, and an outside jacuzzi.

Prices for the thermal spa vary during the season but generally prices range from 18€ - 21€ for adults plus 5€ if you want to have access to the adults only area and 8€ to 9€ for children (family pass prices are also available). It is not necessary to book in advance to visit the main spa area.

Beauty treatments are also available for additional cost and must be booked in advance.

Lockers are free with your entry price but note that you need to take towels with you.

We can arrange transport to the thermal spa complex, or you can take the ski bus directly there.

NB! Please also note that bermuda shorts (i.e. any type of baggy shorts) are prohibited.
