Financial protection - your holiday with Chez Serre Chevalier
Booking through Chez Serre Chevalier provides peace of mind as we provide financial protection for your holiday. Your booking deposit and balance of the holiday cost are held on trust for you until you return from holiday. This means your money will be refunded if your holiday does not take place for reason of our insolvency.
Our legal obligations are set out in the The Package Travel, Package Holidays and Package Tours Regulations 1992 (the "Regulations"). The definition of 'package' set out in the Regulations is the pre-arranged combination of at least two of the following components when sold or offered for sale at an inclusive price and when the service covers a period of more than twenty-four hours or includes overnight accommodation:
- transport;
- accommodation; and/or
- other tourist services not ancillary to transport or accommodation and accounting for a significant proportion of the package, and:
a. the submission of separate accounts for different components shall not cause the arrangements to be other than a package;
b.the fact that the combination is arranged at the request of the consumer and in accordance with his specific instructions whether modified or not shall not of itself cause it to be treated as other than pre-arranged.
Therefore, holidays booked through Chez Serre Chevalier will generally fall within this definition. As such we must and do take particular care to comply with the financial security obligations set out in the Regulations.
Booking through Chez Serre Chevalier provides peace of mind as we provide financial protection for your holiday. If you don't book your holiday through us and arrange accommodation and activities etc separately by yourself, you may not be covered. Any part of your holiday could financially fail and you could lose the money you have paid.
Chez Serre Chevalier is committed to consumer financial protection. Your booking deposit and balance of the holiday cost are held on trust for you until you return from holiday. This means your money will be refunded if your holiday does not take place for reason of our insolvency.
We are sometimes asked why we are not a member of ABTA. Quite simply, becoming a member of ABTA is too expensive for a company of our size and we would have to significantly increase our prices if we were to join this association. By having your monies held on trust, you are provided with the same financial protection and you also benefit from lower prices.
IMPORTANT: As we do not include flights or other international travel in our packages, you must ensure you have adequate financial protection in this regard. In relation to flights, it is advisable to ensure the airline you use has the appropriate CAA / ATOL bonds in place.
